Eligibility Criteria for Punjab TET 

Qualifications for Class I to V (Primary Stage):

The candidates should have passed their class 12th Exam or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or should be appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002; or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)* or Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Qualifications for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):

Candidates should have Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known); or Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.); or Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed; or Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Punjab TET 2019 Application Form

The application form can be filled by visiting on the official portal of PSEB (Punjab School Education Board) which is www.tetpunjab.com. Interested Students who are appearing in the Punjab TET 2019 first need to register themselves online to apply. Before applying for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test, Students first need to confirm that they are meeting with all eligibility requirements.

Application Fees

  • In case the candidates wish to apply for either Paper I or Paper II, they are required to pay an application fee of Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ ST Category/ Differently Abled candidates)
  • In case the candidates wish to apply for both Paper I or Paper II, they are required to pay an application fee of Rs.1200/- (Rs.600/- for SC/ ST Category/ Differently Abled candidates)
  • The fee can be paid through Challan or Credit/Debit Card. Ex-Servicemen Self-only candidates are exempted from payment of fees.

Selection Procedure for Punjab TET 

Punjab TET 2019 conducted in three major types. Details of these categories are given under this:

Category I:
It is conducted in terms of checking the eligibility level of all candidates.
Then they are recruited in lower primary level teaching jobs.
Teachers will be allowed to take up classes from first to fifth, by valid scores.
Category II:
It is conducted to all aspiring students and then they are appointed as eligible Upper Primary level teachers.
By passing this examination, candidates are appointed as eligible teachers and they can take up classes from standard sixth to eighth.
Category III:
Candidates those who are mainly passed this category III Examination will be appointed as eligible teachers in all recognized schools under the state government of Punjab.

PSTET Exam Pattern 2018

There will be two examinations for Punjab State TET, each examination is containing 150 questions of 150 marks. Thus as per two examinations, the total question paper will be of 300 (Three Hundred) marks.

Punjab TET Admit Card

The admit card for PSTET can be downloaded from the official website before one month before the date of examination. To download the PSTET Admit Card, candidates have registration application number and date of birth. Admit Card/Roll Number is mandatory to have appeared in the final exam. In the case of any mistake/error, the candidate should immediately contact the exam conducting authority.

PSTET Result

The PSTET result will be declared by Punjab Board within 2-3 months after the exam date. Candidates who qualified the test will be eligible for the vacant seats. After result declaration, the authority will verify the documents of qualifying candidates and issued the certificate.
