HTET 2018-19 Notification: Haryana TET Entrance Exam - Details

HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) - The notification for HTET is release by the conducting body i.e., Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH). The board publishes the notification its official website. Apart from it, the notification is published in the local/ national daily Hindi/ English newspapers. The same is also advertised in the Employment News and Rojgar Samachar Patr. For the year, 2019 the official notification hasn’t been yet released. As the notification will be released candidates will be able to get the information for the same here.

HTET 2019 is an entrance test organized by the Government of Haryana State. The notification will soon be published officially so that those who are interested to become part of this competitive examination may come up and join the test. This is purely a state level examination commences every year for those who wanted to build their career in teaching. HTET 2018 exam is to be conducted in the last week of December 2018. & It’s application form will be released in 1st week of December 2018. But official notification is on waiting still.

The test will be in two modes:
  • Online – Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • Offline- Traditional Paper Written Test.
The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2019 will be organized by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH). The exam will be held in two days – the first day for only Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) (Level 3), and the second day for Primary Teacher (PRT) followed by the exam for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT). The test will measure the eligibility of the candidates or the post of primary and upper primary teachers (TGTs). HTET 2019 Important Dates (Tentative)

HTET 2019 is commenced on three different levels which are as follows:
  • Level 1 is for those candidates who wanted to join as a Primary Teacher from class I to V.
  • Level 2 is for those candidates who wanted to join as Trained Graduate Teacher from classes VI to X
  • Level 3 is for those candidates who wanted to join as Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) from classes XI& XII

Eligibility Criteria for HTET 2019

For Level 1 (PRT):
  • Senior Secondary and passed/ appearing in two years of D.El.Ed program {as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure Regulations) 2007 notified on 31 August 2009}. Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in the senior secondary exam. OR
  • 10+2 or equivalent and passed or appearing in two years of D.El.Ed program (as per NCTE Regulations, 2002). Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in the senior secondary exam. OR
  • 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed/ appearing in four years B.El.Ed (Bachelor of Elementary Education. OR
  • 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed/ appearing in D.Ed (Special Education). OR
  • Bachelor Degree or passed/ appearing in two years of D.Ed/ D.El.Ed.
For Level 2 (TGT):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Commerce with two years of D.El.Ed. OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Commerce with minimum 50% marks with B.Ed (1-year) as per NCTE regulations, 2007 published on 31st August 2009. OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Commerce with minimum 40% marks with B.Ed (1-year) as per NCTE regulations issued from time to time. OR
  • 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 50% marks along with four years B.El.Ed; OR
  • 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and Bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Science + On year B.Ed. OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Science with minimum 50% marks and one year B.Ed (SE).
Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 18 and the maximum age limit is 38.

How to apply for HTET 2019 Application Form

  • The HTET 2019 Application will be available only online mode at the HTET official site expected in the month of October 2019 (Direct link will be provided here soon).
  • For filling application, you have to go to the official website, and click on “HTET Apply Online” link.
  • In the Application form, you have to fill all correction information like Name of Candidates, Parent’s Name, Address, Contact, Qualification etc.
  • Also need to upload the images of photograph, signature and other required documents (check specifications).
  • Before Submitting review your application then submit it and take the print of HTET confirmation page.

Application Fee Details

While applying for HTET 2019, candidates need to submit application fee as well. The fee cost varies from one category to another. Given below are the details:
  • Those who belong to General/UR Category must pay Rs 600/-
  • Reserve category candidates must pay Rs 300/-
  • Other candidates and other states candidates need to make payment of Rs 600/-

HTET Syllabus

Syllabus for Level-1 Teacher for Classes I-V Primary Teacher follows below:

Questions are based entirely on topics mentioned for classes 1st to 5th. However, the level can be reached to the secondary stage as well.

Syllabus for Level-2 Teacher for Classes VI-VIII Elementary Stage follows below:

The questions in the question paper based on the topics of the syllabus of Board of School Education Haryana for classes from VI-VIII but the difficulty level may move up to the senior secondary stage

Syllabus for Level-3 Teacher for Classes IX-XII Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) follows below:

The questions in the test based on the topics of syllabus of Board of School Education Haryana for classes IX-XII, however, the level of difficulty can be raised up to Post Graduation level.

HTET Exam Pattern

The examination is based on a pen and paper mode.

The questions will be Multiple Choice Questions. One mark each awarded for every correct answer. There will be no negative marking.

Level 1- Primary Teacher for classes 1st to 5th
  • Exam time duration will be two and a half hours
  • There will be one paper consisted of Multiple Choice Questions. For every correct answer, one will receive one mark. Choose one correct option from four options.
  • Child Development and Pedagogy 30 questions for 30 Marks
  • Languages (Hindi 15 MCQs and English 15 MCQs), 30 questions for 30 Marks
  • General Studies (Quantitative Aptitude 10 MCQs, Reasoning Ability 10 MCQs and Haryana G.K and Awareness 10 MCQs), 30 questions for 30 Marks
  • Mathematics, 30 questions for 30 Marks
  • Environment Studies, 30 questions for 30 Marks
Level 2- Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) from VI-VIII
  • Exam time duration will be two and a half hours
  • There will be one paper consisted of Multiple Choice Questions. For every correct answer, one will receive one mark. Choose one correct option from four different options.
  • Child Development and Pedagogy, 30 questions for 30 marks
  • Languages (Hindi 150 MCS and English 15 MCQs), 30 questions for 30 marks
  • General Studies (Quantitative Aptitude 10 questions, Reasoning Ability 10 questions, and Haryana G.K and Awareness, 10 questions), 30 questions for 30 marks
  • Subject Specified as opted, 60 questions for 60 Marks
Level 3, Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)

Exam time duration will be two and a half hours. There will be one paper consisted of Multiple Choice Questions. For every correct answer, one will receive one mark. Choose one correct option from four different options.
  • Child Development and Pedagogy, 30 questions for 30 marks
  • Languages (Hindi 150 MCS and English 15 MCQs) , 30 questions for 30 marks
  • General Studies (Quantitative Aptitude, 10 questions, Reasoning Ability 10 questions, and Haryana G.K and Awareness 10 questions),30 questions for 30 marks
  • Subject Specified as opted, 60 questions for 60 Marks

Marks needed for the Qualifying Exam

  • For all categories except SC, Differently abled or Physically Challenged of other States, it is 60% or 90 Marks
  • For SC, Differently abled or Physically Challenged of Haryana Domicile, it is 55% or 82 Marks
  • For SC, Differently abled or Physically Challenged of other States, it is 60% or 90 Marks

Selection Process for HTET 

Candidate required to secure at least 60% marks only then he/she is eligible for HTET 2019 examination.

Admit Card for HTET

Those candidates who have applied for can download their admit card from the official website from November 2018. Admit Card cum Roll numbers are compulsory for all applicants to sit in the examination hall.

HTET Answer Key

The answer key will be published soon after exam gets over. Download the answer key from the main official portal. One gets the estimation of the way question paper is handled.

HTET 2019 Result

The result of HTET will be declared within a month of the exam. Candidates will be able to check the result on the official website of the authority. Candidates have to fill the login credentials to check the result. The result will comprise of candidates qualification in the exam. Candidates will also be able to check marks secured by them in the exam.

HTET Certificate Validity Period

The HTET certificate validity period for qualifying candidate is five years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories. There is no any restriction on the number of attempts for eligible candidates. Those candidates who already qualified exam can reattempt exam for improvement.
